Hello and welcome to YTT!Do you need it on your videos if doing lets play?
I use a Dynex usb mic and it works well enough for semi-live/live/separate commentary. I record my commentary with audacity. I've never used elgato for gamecap, I use fraps. I also have never used final cut pro. I do know that recording that separate audio for overlay is easy and preferred by a lot of game commentators due to the volume control (the very reason I do it).Thanks. I have no problem doing commentary. I would probably do live commentary where I talk while I play using audacity as that is the most recommended when using a mac and Final Cut Pro x. I also have a elgato game capture. Is it easy enough to use the elgato software to capture the gameplay, the audacity to capture my voice then somehow sync them up using final cut? I have a Microsoft USB mic will that work for now until I have money for a blue yeti or snowball?

Syncing is a problem for me but it's normally not off enough to worry about. I try not to use it for let's plays but I normally end up having to record a voice over for it separately due to not being able to hear my voice over the game (I'm very soft spoken). It's mostly used for reviews since it allows me to concentrate on the game and review separately. As for checking my videos, if you're still interested, my gaming channel is not the same as my vlog channel so I had to link it separate in my signature right under the video.Do you ever have a problem syncing ? Do you use it for LPs or just talk about the gameplay in the background? I would check your videos but im at work
