To be honest a water pistol is a little bit too small, i think buckets of water would be funnier

Hell yeah. I completely agree. If you are going to do it then do it. I think it would be hilarious too if you did it like behind a car in a parking lot and then ducked down so when they turned around there would be nobody there.
