I run a website where I feature videos of other youtube members and am wondering If I embed a youtube video on my website is it it okay if there if there are ads on the page?

If your site is pretty new then I doubt that anybody will discover that
But even if you ask they will not say NO
because ultimately you are helping them with getting more views
so ask them and get the permission which you will:)

Yeah it really wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to say no if you approached someone so just ask and I am sure it would be fine.

Lol @ at the above. Do what you want when embedding videos - you obviously don't need permission to embed a video.

We were just stating that it would probably be better to be safe then sorry and that there shouldn't be anyone to object to it if you asked them. Im not 100% on the actual rules and legalities in it that's why I suggested to just ask. I find you get more positive results sometimes this way.

You don't need permission to embed videos though. This is included in the Terms of Service, otherwise they wouldn't have an embed option if you couldn't embed videos without authorisation..

you agree not to distribute any part of or parts of the Website or the Service, including but not limited to any Content, in any medium without YouTube's prior written authorisation, unless YouTube makes available the means for such distribution through functionality offered by the Service (such as the YouTube Player);

Huh. Well there you go. Learned something new today.

To use their video you need permission to use and make money off of it, (I'm assuming the reason you want ads is for profit).
