Can I Do This?

I Love YTtalk
Hey guys, so i have a old channel it has a ton of copyrighted stuff on it, but some of it is not. I was wondering if i acknowledge all the claims will i be able to monetize my account, and monetize the videos without copyright material? or will YouTube be harsher on copyright material sue the the account monetized?

If the questions aren't clear here is further explanation, right now the account is in good standing, but it isn't monetized, im just asking if i monetize it, is there a spotlight shined on the account, or will it be just like it was before? I don't want to get the channel shut down!

Don't do it unless you are very familiar with Youtube's copyright rules and monetization policies--most people aren't. The fact that you already have copyrighted content, is a huge risk on its own. Even if you claim it and monetize it, you won't make money off of claimed content and you can still get your account terminated ("can"). If you do get terminated, you won't be able to monetize with the same adsense.

The thing about having claims on that content, is that you can't monetise. Someone else will get the money. And you risk copyright strikes and having your channel insta-banned.

No i don't want to monetize any of the copyrighted videos, i just want to monetize the account for the features. i'm not planning to make any money off this channel, will just use to promote my other channels mostly. I just don't want to enable the channel monetization and then it gets banned. I hope i'm explaining this right lol

I did that as well but eventually the videos auto of me singing was muted so I deleted all copyrighted videos

Can't you just not have copyrighted content on that channel? That would be the best option honestly. :happy2:

You can still enable monetization on that account for the features but the risk doesn't go away regardless of having monetization enabled, or not, since you are not supposed to have copyrighted content uploaded to start.

Hope that makes sense. It sounded a bit worded, ha.

YouTube is very strict about copyright and you should have no reason to upload copyrighted material. If you want to keep your channel you shouldn't monetize the account. And what Frankie was saying is that, even the videos that you don't want monetized WILL be monetized so that the creator can make money. That is one of the perks of YouTube. If someone breaks copyright the owner has the option of deleting the video, muting the audio. Or getting paid for the views it receives. It is up to the artist as to what happens to your video, not you.

There's always a reason to upload copyrighted material, because someone wants to. My question doesn't refer to monetizing individual videos, i was just asking if YouTube reviews channels that are monetized more than ones that aren't. The videos are old, but the channel is still getting 2k daily views, and subs everyday, i just don't want to lose the channel before i had a chance to promote my other content. I know copyright laws, and i know Youtube TOS!
