Can I delete copyrighted songs via Youtube and Monetize?

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if this would work, I have a a lot of videos uploaded already on Youtube with songs I don't have the rights to. Would I be able to delete the audio, via YT's editing, and apply for monetization? or do I have to start from scratch and upload the orginal video without music then apply?
Any help would be great!

You have to delete the video, remove the audio in a video editing software, and re upload it.

I believe you have to take the video completely down.

Actually, you can use Audio Swap though you have to choose from a list of their songs.
