Other Calling All Youtubers! I Need Your Advice/ Help

Hey guys,

So I've thought it'd be a good idea for a long time for there to be some kind of youtube magazine- either online or hard copy.

I've done my research and as far as I can find, the only thing that comes close is WIRED, but that's more techy than internet-y (Smosh had a short lived magazine but the less said about that the better...)

I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in helping out with it?

Maybe you think it's a terrible idea... let me know.

It could start off as an online PDF type thing with contributions from youtubers all over. I know in one of the FineBros recent videos one thing current youtubers complained out was there's no way to find new content on youtube, maybe this could be the way.

Do you have a flair for writing? A knack for graphics? Were you the editor of your schools newspaper? Get in touch!

Thanks in advance guys,

Peace. Sid. x

Hey, Matt!
This is an f-ing G R E A T idea! I actually thought of that like 3-4 months ago, and thought no one would ever help me develop something like that.
I have some skills in GFX and writing. I may not have the best grammar in English because it's my second language so i possibly couldn't be an editor.
Maybe you have Skype, so we could chat a bit more about it?

That sounds like quite a good idea :) I'm not sure if I'd be able to be dedicated to it since I have a lot of things going on right now but I'd be happy to help with the GFX or writing :p

I'm a writer, and I'd love to help!

Sounds like an excellent idea. Just be careful of the people you bring on. Shameless self-promotion is typically what you're going to find from anyone with a channel. Make sure they aren't blatantly advertising themselves and actually have meaningful contributions towards this project :p

i guess i can join, we can start with issuu and then pay people on it. just to be clear this will take a long time i dont want you to think that people will pay for a unknown magazine for no reason.

Hello Matt,

Very interesting idea you have. If you like to execute that professionally, you need to define your target audience. Who do you want to reach... the youtube creators? the youtube main audience? What audience? English? 18-24? Gamers? Kitty-lovers?

The more you narrow that down, the easier to define your strategy. What kind of articles would the readers love? How should the writing style be? What about the magazine style. If you reach some readers, advertising could become interesting.

I wouldn't bother with paper magazines, because online magazines are becoming more popular, easier to distribute and you don't have to print it.

Since it's a low cost - low risk idea, it's very accessible. But it's the same with creator channels; you need to keep people interested, or else all will be in vain.

Sounds like a really good idea :)
goodluck with it (i dont think i could help :p)
If you want it to be really succesful think long and hard about everything like target audience (id suggest other creators so it dosnt get lost as another teen mag)

Youtubers tend to be the most untrustworthy, shady, hounorless people around. It's hard enough to avoid their videos let alone a magazine dedicated to them.
