Best Microphone for Canon 650D

Michael

I Love YTtalk
I am looking into getting a Canon 650D at some point in the future and I will be wanting an external microphone for it, does anyone have any experience with this camera and external mics and know of a decent one to use with it? I dont want any interference from the camera like autofocus noises showing up in the recordings. I know I will be wanting the pancake STM lens with it as thats meant to help reduce noise but not fully remove it.

I wont be wanting one of those clip on microphones (cavalier I think theyre called) and the only microphone I have really looked at are the Rode Video Mics and the Pro version, surely there are more out there to consider, I have never bought a microphone for these purposes by the way.

Thanks for any and all input on this.

I use a Zoom H4N for my T2i. It's one of the better external recorders on the market. Plus it has 2 mic inputs to link 2 microphones for 4 track recording. They released not to long about the Zoom H2N. Check those out.
