Basic recording of a gaming video from TV

Hi guys,

My son has started a gaming channel and has a few videos, currently I record them on my phone by standing in front of the TV. Needless to say this is not great quality but we don't have the resources to film it with specialist software on to a pc like a lot do.

So my question is basically is there a quick/simple app or economical software to use to film/stream direct from the tv to a phone/tablet and also record his voice commenting while he plays without spending a lot of money. This is more of a fun hobby for him, so hence I don't want to pay a lot currently.

Thanks in advance. :D:D:D[DOUBLEPOST=1518885369,1518874155][/DOUBLEPOST]Just to add, he plays on the xbox1x if that helps??

Probably the best thing I could probably suggest if he's after something economical is probably to just stream to Twitch through the XBox, but set up the Twitch channel to save broadcasts as videos, which he could then export the archived video to Youtube via Twitch's web site. I don't have an XBox One myself but have seen a few guides to get it set up. I can't post URL's in this reply but if you run a google search for Tom's Guide streaming to Twitch for XBox One you should find two guides. One is for streaming to Twitch from an XBox One, and the second is to enable microphones (from his headset if he has one) so that people can hear him speak.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I'm sure if others know of another way to do it I'm sure they'll be happy to help.
