Am I ready for a YT partnership?

Youtube partnerships are very new to me, I'm still learning this stuff and what it's all about.

I have a YT channel focused on games and I'm just starting off, figuring out my content, etc. I recently was approached by VISO, but after reading everything about BBTV I have my doubts about them. I'm also not totally sold on the idea of joining a partnership, because I'm not sure what the actual benefits are.

Anyway, I currently have a CPM of over $13, which seems high when compared to what I read on these forums about what partners offer, which looks like generally around the $5 CPM mark. Am I doing something right/wrong or am I overlooking something and could be doing better with a partnership?

Also, my main goal right now is to increase my views and subscribers while maintaining my current CPM. Is a Partnership something that can help with view count? Or is it mainly for revenue?

Thank you.

Your CPM will not stay that high. It is just very high from a lower number of views. That said, wait to partner until you have at least 100+ subs and 100+ views per day minimum.

Thank you for the reply.

My monetized playbacks is sitting at around 30%, which seems in-line with what partnered channels are getting. I know my channel is very new/low view count, but what's considered a good/bad monetized view count percentage?

It is on the lowside, but you cannot get accurate numbers until you have 10k or so monetized views.

how do you check what the percentage of your views are monetized?

69 subs and low views, I would wait till you're a bit bigger.[DOUBLEPOST=1376117782,1376117715][/DOUBLEPOST]
how do you check what the percentage of your views are monetized?

You do the math, take the number of monetized views, and just compare them to your total views for the same time period.
Mine is a little under 50%, so either mine is above average or his 30% is low. (It will always be lower without partnership(I think))

Can I ask how in hell you are managing CPM of $13?

I have no idea, honestly. I'm just using adsense like normal and I'm trying to advertise my channel without spamming anywhere as much as possible. Posting actively in related game forums seems to help draw in the views (with channel link in my signature), and I get more positive feedback/youtube hits from my signatures when I make quality posts (i.e. relevant to the subject, thought-out non-spam posts, etc). Also I've got a video blog with links back to my youtube channel which I'm hoping helps with SEO.

It is on the lowside, but you cannot get accurate numbers until you have 10k or so monetized views.

Awesome, I'll use that as a baseline when I eventually get there. :)

EDIT: Also, I'm really curious if partnerships help out with views or are they mainly there to help with CPM?

Partnership won't get you views, but you can use the partnership as your advantage. Since you're a pretty smart guy from what I have seen, you should be able to figure out what I mean. Just keep it up with the good work. I have seen your videos and they're very good quality. I enjoy watching them. Good job.

As far as for partnership, it really depends on what you want from the company that's sponsors you.

With the CPM you currently have I don't see any reason for you to join a network. The Monetized view % will stay the same if you join a network and your CPM is unlikely to rise from the number it is now, wait until you have more views so that you can get a more accurate reading of your CPM before making any hasty decisions.
