Thanks! I don't think 1000 is any magic number that will make a big difference.

But I do now have some videos with solid SEO that continue to bring new subs without any more work being done. So from that perspective it's a lot easier than before to grow!

Congratulations! 1000 is a huge achievement!
Travel vlogs are a good place to be right now with YouTube... You can sure get in that community with had work.
I am planning lots of travels, moving to Amsterdam in 2017 and going to travel around Australia the following year... So hopefully I can get into that community soon too. It's a hard one but people want to travel and if you can do it and can give them advice on how they can do it too - you are sure to go far
