Advertisements

Alright, I'm pretty new to the network partnership thingy, and I'm next to clueless on what advertisements I should include in my videos. So far, I've only enabled Overlay in-video ads since they're the least annoying. There's TrueView in-stream ads, Standard in-stream ads, and Standard in-stream ads up to 30 seconds as well. Does it matter how many types of ad's I enable for my videos, or just activating one (like I've done all this while) is fine?

I have the first 2 checked, and both Standard in stream ads disabled. Although I would also like to know more about it.

I actually asked my subs which they found less invasive. They actually preferred the pre-roll videos to the lower thirds. Which, *shrugs* works for me.

Also, video pre-rolls tend to have higher CPM/CPC - because "old money" advertisers have content for it (TV advertising).

I have all three enabled. If i am not mistaken I think it would be better that way, because if you dont have skip-able and non skip-able ads running, having the overlay ads will help with earnings. Don't quote me on this though, but from some questions I found on the official youtube/google forums, this was what they mentioned.

I recommend you to just check all, normally the skippable ads are favourable to people while the non-skippable ads just scares off your audience but you get a good CPM but can decrease as you start scaring them away :p

Overlay ads literally earn you like one dollar with 1,000 monetized views. They are worthless compared to Trueview and Standard in-stream ads.
