I Love YTtalk
We get lots of people posting what I guess you could call 'thoughtless collab' requests. an example:
Hey anyone wanna collab? I do gaming.
... No. Nobody wants to collab because they have no idea what they're meant to be doing! If you want to collab, and have your post be at least a little successful, here are some quick tips:
1. Have an idea BEFORE you make a thread. Wanna do a joint vlog? Know your subject matter and what you have in mind for your collaborators. Wanna do a multiplayer? Know what game, what map etc and list all the details you can.
2. Be specific as to age groups. We all have our preferences. I, for example, prefer to collab with those 21 and over, but will dip to 18 if need be. If you have an age rage, be sure to state it clearly to prevent disappointment and refusal down the line.
3. Have some channel activity to show what you're like! Of course if someone wants to collab, they'll look at your videos. If you last uploaded 9 months ago, people are unlikely to wanna work with you.
4. Don't give a sub count demand unless your own sub count is matching or higher. I have seen people with 100 subs demand 'must have 500 subs or more'. Nobody will work with you if you make such demands.
5. Decide beforehand whose channel the footage is on. Do you mind it being on their channel to? If not, say so in your thread.
Hope that helps!
