This has been an incredible last 30 days. I thought growing to 10k subs in 10 months was crazy enough, but to hit 20k just 44 days later is beyond just words. And it’s only getting crazier the past few days where I have even gained over 2k subs in 2 days with no promoting, which is ridiculous since it took me 6 months to get my first 2k promoting for countless hours.
I realized last night that I’m now making more from Youtube passively doing nothing than my first job making coffee for 8 hours and it hasn’t even been a year.
New Goal: Hit 30k subscribers by March 16th, which is my Birthday as well as my channel’s birthday.
Best advices starting from most important:
1. Learn how to promote during the first 24-72 hours of an upload
2. Understand Youtube’s SEO like the back of your hand
3. Understand the concept of watch time session, that Youtube’s goal is to make sure people never leave their platform. So create videos with really high relative audience retention that encourages people to watch another video, even if it’s not yours
4. Remember “Success leaves clues.” So Model your channel after bigger and successful channels, especially those of your niche. But pick channels that only recently blew up. Study and pick them apart. Then mix it up with your own personality and style and try to surpass them.
5. Engage with your community. I respond to practically every comment, sometimes within 30 seconds.
6. Network with other Youtubers. There’s a lot of ups and downs to being a Youtuber. You don’t need to do this journey alone.
7. Pray that the Youtube Gods like you. Because there is a luck factor, but it’s the last on this list for a reason.
