1mill+ on one of my videos and I've earned $180?

I'm partnered and one of my video reached over 1million video views and when I check my estimate earnings on YouTube it says I've earned $180? Is this right? The video is only 3 days old. Has it updated all? I mean $180 is not alot at all! I should be getting $800+ for 1 mill video right?

Does anyone know if this is accurate?

Well congrats on the million views. I believe it is something like 1 dollar for 1000 views. It might take analytics a few days to catch up to your views.

No, it doesn't matter how much views you get, what does matter is how many times the ads were fully watched or clicked. One video with 1Mil might get $600 but the other might get $50 because the other one got more ad clicks and the ads were fully watched more! Hope this helps! ;)

Woah, 1 mil views? That's awesome. But yeah, I thought it depended on how many times the ads were clicked? What is the name of the video?

I believe as well you earn based on audience retention sometimes. If it's less than X% of the video, they won't pay.

I've also heard what Scobalula said about the net. What's the content of the video? If it's something that keys in with a target demographic it can earn a lot more money from ads that are geared toward the video.

The article I read recently used this as a comparison: A tutorial video on breastfeeding infants, and a commentary on a trailer for new video game. Though both may have the same amount of views, the breastfeeding video has a niche audience (new mothers) that advertisers like Target and Wallmart want to hook (and will pay through the nose to get those new mom eyeballs on their ads). Meanwhile, the market is saturated with video game ads (especially on YouTube), so although the video game trailer is getting to the right audience there's way more of that audience and that's why advertising to them is much cheaper.

That's probably the amount you got for the first day alone. The other days will update shortly. For 1M views, you should be well over $1000.
