1000 views but no money?

I realise im not going to get much money from 1000 views on a youtube video but i thought i would have atleast made a few pennies. I just want to make sure that it is actually working. the video is monetized so unless every viewer had adblock then i should have made a bit of money?
 
Well when did you post the video perhaps the stats just need to update which may take a few days. Otherwise, IDK
 
It can take a while for it to update. You also got to remember that not every one of those views was monetized. If the video got shared onto a website, ads may have not appeared. They may have came from mobile, and majority of mobile views don't show ads.

From the looks of it, the views were not on YouTube itself. 1,200+ views, but only 1 rating... There's your answer right there. The views most likely came from a third party site, therefor ads were not shown.

If you're looking to make money from YouTube, you're not going to make much, and it's going to be a waste of your time tracking down how much money you're making from a video. Make videos because you like to, and have fun, not because you make money from it.
 
Yes AS I SAID. i understand that im not going make mega bucks, but i just wan to ensure that i understand how it all works. I thought i would have atleast made a few pennies from a thousand views. There is no point me starting to put effort into videos if i dont understand how adsense works.

When did you post the video??
And you get the money from views from effort
Money comes last not effort.
 
I really dont get this at all! i understand what the chap said about third party websites because i believe most of my views were from facebook which is why no ads were coming up, but do i really need make $100 before i can actually make money?

Ok you make money but they won't send you a cheque until you reach 100 dollars. It just waits until you do.
