100 Subs - 4,000 Views!

Has taken me just under three months.

Just under one month ago (which was two months in to my youtubing journey) I posted a milestone thread celebrating 50 subs and 2,000 views. So Ive just done in one month what it took me two months to do at the beginning...so things seem to be ramping up :) slowly but surely.

I like to think Im doing alright considering my relatively small niche (gold prospecting).

And also, just a quick, or not so quick, question while I have got you here. After reaching 100 subscribers I am now eligible for a custom URL. When I go to claim it, it gives me youtube.com/c/DigginForGold and then says something along the lines of "Many others have this name. Add some numbers or letter to the end to make it unique". I have no other options. This is rather annoying as I want what they've given me but without the extra stuff. If I try to navigate to youtube.com/c/DigginForGold it says that the page/channel doesnt exist. So why cant I claim it? Is there a way I can get it? My channel name is Diggin' For Gold, so I dont want to have to add some random meaningless numbers to my URL, especially since noone else is actually using it. What gives?

Thanks

Congrats!! That is a very nice time you took to get to this milestone. Keep at it and by the end of this year you might be looking at 1K.
I had the same issue as you with the custom URL, and no pages were found with the one i wanted, but in the end i ended up changing to something slightly different. Don't do numbers people never remember numbers.

Thanks! 1k seems so far away lol. My new goal is 500 subs by the end of my first year though...seems doable :)

And so there is no way I can get youtube.com/c/DigginForGold ? Im going to have to come up with something different? Ugh. That majorly sucks. Majorly. I seriously dont know what to do... Anything I add to it will make it too long, imo. For instance, I could go .../c/DigginForGoldAus, .../c/DigginForGoldAust, .../c/DigginForGoldAustralia etc but they seem too long. Ideally I could get .../c/DFG as thats not in use either but Id settle for.../c/DigginForGold

Well done man!!! 100 subs is the BEST early milestone in my opinion. So sweet. Diggin' for gold? That's such a sick niche. I have to check this out. I'm a bit stumped about the custom URL man. Not really sure what's up with that. Best of luck figuring it out!

Thanks very much.

I agree. Its a milestone that actually has some significance to it...with the custom URL and all (if I can figure it out).

And yeah gold prospecting. I bloody love it and love watching the vids online...but if you're not into it I could see how the vids could be pretty boring lol since theyre not exactly short or action packed. Anyways thanks again!

Congrats on the sped up growth man, hard work and consistency pays off. In regards to the channel URL i'm not too sure about that sorry :(. Good luck with achieving those future milestones.

If YouTube says the name is unavailable, then you're going to have to figure out another name. Is there another option for spelling of it that you could use? Congrats on your 100 subs!

An update. Checked back again today and now the unique URL I wanted, as explained above, was available. Strange...but yay! I got it![DOUBLEPOST=1463732138,1463731743][/DOUBLEPOST]if i type in "youtube.com/digginforgold" or 'youtube.com/c/digginforgold" it goes to my channel as it should. But if I type in youtube.com/channel/digginforgold" it says "This channel does not exist". Anyone know whats up with that?

Youtube doesn't support that format. It's either /c/<unique link> or /channel/<channel id>.
But don't worry because it's not important, you can just use youtube.com/digginforgold which is the best!

I really liked your channel idea, I subbed and hoping to see some videos of successful and unsuccessful gold searches ;)
