My buddy was telling me that in order to make $1000/mth you would need aprox. 650,000 views per month. Is this correct?

Obv, it depends on lots of factors, but that's a decent estimate, yes.

Depends on CPM, time of year, and the frequency of ads being placed, but yeah he's kinda sorta in the ballpark. No one's really allowed to directly say how much they make per view, per the terms of service.

My channel needs twice that many views for that much money, but that's counting all views, most of which didn't have ads or had the ads blocked by ad-blockers.
