There are a lot of people out there from all over the world that want to start a YouTube channel. From my experience it seems that a proportion of these people that WANT to start a YouTube channel, don't. This is simply because they face confidence issues or are worried that others will mock/bullly them. Having experienced this first hand, I thought I would explain to you in this simple thread, why you SHOULD start a YouTube channel.

1. SOCIALISING
If you're like me, and don't seem to get out much and have an incredibly small friendship group, YouTube is solution. I don't really go out much and I find myself alone quite a bit with my own thoughts. Not to get all depressing on you, however this is the reality of some people. Posting videos online is a fantastic way to interact with others and build a community of people who consistently return for more. This means you can build up online relationships/friendships with those who are supportive of what you do! As well as this, you can collaborate with other fellow content creators meaning your social circle can grow and you can be more of a sociable person.

NOTE: This is your biggest key to success - interacting with others. Don't just allow others to support you but find your interest and those who create the same type of content, give them support! You'll find that if you can build a mutual, supportive relationship, your sub count will grow.

2. ENTERTAINMENT
The idea of entertaining works on two different levels. The first is that you, yourself, can be entertained. Posting videos online requires more than just recording yourself and sticking it on YouTube (if you want to be successful obviously). It requires editing of the video itself and maintenance of your channel - such as thumbnails, banners, descriptions and tags.

NOTE: This is another big key to success - ensuring that your channel is well maintained. In 2016, people look for high quality videos that are well edited and with good thumbnail, a catchy title and a readable description that is not full of spam.

The other sense is entertaining others. If you're constantly bored yourself and are looking for a hobby, imagine the amount of people in the world thinking the exact same thing as you, think of the amount of people who would surf YouTube for the SAME reason! Make sure that on your channel, you do something that you're interested in. This is because if you don't, you'll probably be less enthusiastic and that can honestly show - especially if your body language and facial expressions coincide with your lack of enthusiasm when speaking. Do NOT start a channel for the fame/money AT ALL or else it's likely that it'll come across that its all you're interested in when doing your videos!

3. EXPRESSION
YouTube is a brilliant way to express yourself. A lot of people find it difficult to do just that and to be honest, I can definitely relate! I believe that being on YouTube gives you the ability to talk about what you want to with a lot of people thinking the same.

NOTE: The final key is to be original. YouTube isn't about seeing millions of people doing the same thing, creativity whilst expressing yourself makes the video more enjoyable for others.

If you're hesitating and unsure as to whether or not you should create a youtube channel I would say JUST GO FOR IT! In this day and age, people do different things with their life: dancing, singing, playing an instrument. Making youtube videos is the exact same. What ever reason is holding you back, take it out of your mind. If it's the lack of equipment, DO NOT stress! I started off with just a simple phone camera and an old laptop which hardly worked with a free piece of editing software. I'm now almost at 1,000 subscribers and having so much fun!

Thank you very much for reading,

Pedroseph!
