What would be considered good for view duration

Obviously 100% is the answer but what would be considered good to you on your channel?

I'm hovering around 40 to 50 % of my video length but not sure if that would be good or not?

I'm considering just making my videos even shorter like under 2 minutes now. What do you think?

Depends on the content in the videos you make. My vlogs are usually around 3-7 minutes long and I try to do a few sketches whenever I can in them(jokes and etc) But on some topics there is just "dry material" which you cant think of a joke... and have to reply on the other topics in your video and plan where to put these dry time's.

Well what I am trying to say is it all depends on the content in your videos.

Considering how short your videos are I would normally say that is not very good but considering how many views your getting that is not to bad

If you have a 2 minute video and peopleare only watching 50% it means people get bored after seeing 1 minute oof your video, which I think means you need to change things up. If your video was say 20 minutes with a 40% retention rate that means people are watching about 8 minutes of your video, which is not great out of 20 minutes but means they still find it enjoyable enough to sit through 8 minutes of it. Basically the answer to this question depends completely on your video length, but if you're asking what a good percentage would be? I'd say around 60-70% retention for a 10 minute video would be a good average, which can be scaled down or up into your length.

Your dialogue and jokes are fun, your delivery not so much. Your audio needs a lot of work and work on your editing as well -- your video doesn't take up the whole screen- your skits are funny but need to be honed then you may get close to 80-90% retention

I've spoken to Youtbers with 100k subs who study YouTube SEO and analytics like nerds, and I've heard anything higher than 35% audience retention and over 2:30 of watch time is good. If you're still struggling to get views with stats better than that, than you probably need to work on other parts of SEO and promoting better

And from my experience, I haven't had trouble ranking to front pages of target keywords and phrases

Depends on the video of content a short vid of your might be ranging from 1 min to 5 and if you do a gaming video 5-15 would be a good timer
