What now? Youtube Partnership or Network? #confused

Hey fellow Yttalkers!

So I used to be active in the forums like around 2 years ago.
At this time, networks got a huge hype. I was working at/with Creative Nation then and also ran my own CA.

One year later I created a new youtube channel and got it partnered with Freedom. It looked quite promising.
Still I only earned less than 10 USD in months with 20.000+ views.

Now I just came back to YTTalk and went through the forums.
I was quite surprised when I saw people posting that a normal Youtube Partnership is not worse than being part of a network.

That makes me being confused.
I have the possibility to leave Freedom at any time. And to be honest I'm not sure what to do now.
My channel is not big, I have around 500 subscribers and a minimum of ca. 4000 views per month.

What is the best solution for my youtube channel?

Thanks for your time!!!

If you have no use for the network you are in then leave it. They really don't help out smaller channels that much, they are only really beneficial to large channels.

Alright, thanks for your replies.

Does the YouTube partnership itself pay as good as the average network does?

While networks sometimes have their own ad sales teams, it's rare and typically only used for larger channels.

If anything, networks generally end up paying less because they're playing the same exact ads, but also take their own cut.

Years ago, networks were needed more because they offered things that the average channel couldn't get through YouTube alone (such as allowing users to customize their channel page), but that has since changed and the reasons or need for a network have dwindled.
