Hi guys!

I was wondering what kind of thumbnails are good to have on a youtube channel.
I've seen a lot of youtubers that use like a photo from that specific video and then adds text or other stuff on it or should one create one from scratch and like not have a photo from that video and instead have like a title with maybe pictures about what you talk about or what the video is about?

I'm a vlogger btw don't know if it's a big difference between what you do on youtube and what your thumbnails should look like. Or should one just go with what feels good for one self and kind of be unique?

Help me out guys!

Unique from other channels is good, but some kind of consistency within a channel is good too.

The number one thing, I think, is that any text on the thumbnail has to be easy to read.

Second, the thumbnail should back up your title and description. All three should go hand in hand, so to speak.

The number one thing to think about is would you click on the video if you saw that thumbnail.
