Tv Shows & Gaming commentaries! Does it really match?

So hello!
Soon I'm gonna be starting up my second channel where I will be doing gaming commentaries about pretty much everything! Like which celebrities is hottest, how I feel about flying or maybe my favourite type of nuts.... It could be anything!

I would also like to do a series where I talk about the most recent episodes of my favourite tv shows (Supernatural, The walking dead, Flash, Falling skies etc.) right after the epsiode launches!

But this and a game in the background just doesn't really seem to fit together.... If a guy (or girl) watches the video because he's interrested in the show, the gameplay might annoy him and he'l find someone else to watch!
Vlogging just seems to make more sence here... Just one problem! I'M NOT A VLOGGER! I'm not good in front of the camera! I'm a gaming youtuber and i want to stat that way! But I also want to fo this series!

So could it actually work? Should I just try my luck on vlogging, even though that's not really my thing? Any other ideas?

THANKS!

wow that's a tough one. I'd say that gaming footage and movie and tv talk dont go together. There are exceptions to this though as game footage and "nerdy" tv shows such as most sci fi could probably co exist. It depends on the show and the game.

I'd check out this emergency awesome's channel and have a look at his style. Be careful of copyright strikes though if you use actual footage from the film/show. I don't see any real way around having your face on camera.

On a side note have you considered doing a podcast rather than a youtube series?

I already watch Emergency Awesome! I LOVE HIM! :D
A podcast?? What's the difference really?? Do I just put a black screen in the background?? Or...

I suppose you could put it on a blank background and upload it but to me a podcast is audio only. Probably uploaded to iTunes or somewhere similar that you can link to from your existing style of video. Eg. do a lets play and at the end say something like "if you enjoyed this video please feel free to hit the like and subscribe buttons down below. Also theres a link in the description to my daily/weekly/wheneverly movie podcast , so feel free to check that out as well."

Introducing it in dual comms is also very easy. Doing it this way means that your not confusing or bombarding your audience with content that they never signed up for when they hit the subscribe button, but you're still promoting yourself. Also having a podcast on iTunes could provide an additional way to promote your youtube channel. Just an idea for you to think about
