Sponsorship Question

Hi there, so me and my friends are planning on making a short film, we love filmmaking and have loads of ideas. But the main problem is the equipment we have, it is enough to make a short film but things like a boom pole etc are very much needed and we don't have much money.

We were thinking about getting sponsors, but we are only 13 and nobody is going to take us seriously due to our age. :( A show reel would be an idea we could do but not sure if it would get sponsors as we would have to advertise in return or something, and we upload the videos to my channel and i'm not exactly really popular...so you get my case?

So, do any of you guys have any ideas for what we could do? :)
 
You Can Make Videos With What You Have And By The Time You Can Make Better And Better Videos Then You Will Get Sponsors :) Good Luck

Does your network not help you get sponsors?
 
I agree with all the above, just start making films and get more gear as you grow. I don't know if you have herd of the YouTube channel "thefrugalfilmmaker" but it's well worth a look. He has a video about making a boom pole from a painters pole which is much cheaper.
 
Getting backers for a movie is very hard. But there are ways around this. You mentioned a boom pole. Yes a real one is costly, but you can head to Home Depot or Lowes and get a pvc pipe that will work just as well. There are inexpensive things you can do that will pull off that high end look. The main thing is have a good story.

The best thing for you to do is simply work with what you have. Learn how to make your videos with what you have and make the videos to the best of your ability. As you grow so will your equipment and then sponsors will find you =)
