Depends what stuff you're into whether you want to write a script etc or document things like a video on my channel one is a blooper for a comedy show I started filming and the other is a video filmed at the farm, 2 very different ideas so just go for anything and see which is most sucessful!

just go for what you enjoy filming and are good at to show how good you really are.. (if you have a hobbie ect)

Do what you feel. Then upload it to youtube. Short film ideas aren't that hard. Just ask the folks over at shortfilmidea.com - tons of ideas there. Anyway, good luck.
