Researched Google Trends should I wait to upload?

I am starting a How to Garden channel. Its Fall now. I have done my research and the peak time the videos I want to create are viewed is the third week in April. Should I upload my videos now or wait until the demand tis the highest. There is still a smaller demand for simailar videos now, like how to compost, winter gardening, how to prepare your garden for next spring. Should I only release my videos when they are in demand. Or should I upload now and just wait, knowing that the demand wont be for months. Which will allow me to make and upload a number videos before the demand rises again?

Are you just starting your channel?

It's a double-edged sword.. if you launch the videos now and they become popular, they may be relevant down the road. On the other hand, they may be ignored now and YouTube will rank them lower than newer videos when the trend picks up again.

I would upload some videos rarely but regularly just to establish my channel history and save the really popular videos for when the time comes.

That is what I was thinking. I have been on google trends for a couple days now trying to figure out what is trending now in the category of my channel. What I think I will do is make a list of the videos I want to make and check those ideas against google trends and sort of plan out the best time to release them. I want to make a gardening/ growing food channel which is definitely seasonal but there is still a lot I can do untll it really picks up again.
thank you. Victor@Epiphan

Besides the usual view count, high retention rates, and high viewer interaction (comments, likes, favorites, etc), YouTube also "rewards" channels who release videos regularly.

The channel who releases a video (or multiple videos) a week will find themselves higher ranked than a channel that dumps 20 videos at once or only releases a video randomly every few months.

This is why episodic channels work in seasons with a new release every week for a few months and then take a break instead of working chaotically throughout the year.

I don't know how long it would take for you to make your videos (or if you have a stockpile of completed ones ready to upload), but it would probably serve you best if you had a bunch ready and planned to release one weekly (or twice a week) with April being in the middle of your releases.
