One Take Videos

Hey, what is your underlying verdict on one-take videos. I make this as they are quick and easy to produce. But i want to know do you prefer one-take videos were people try there out-most best not to mess up as like me they cant edit what so ever or do you prefer high end videos filmed with a DSLR mounted on a tripod rather than a android tablet balanced on a bed and a small book.

Thanks in advance

I like the one-take vidoes (with minor edits to speed things) once in a while it just shows how REAL the person is

For me, personally I like the more polished, jumpcut edited DSLR effect, although once in a while having a one take seems cool haha.
I guess its just too many of the one-take ones that I've seen, the youtuber tends to have too many "ums" and the pace just isn't fast enough :P
- just my personal opinion XD but then again, to each their own :)

I'm torn - the jump-cutting is very much now a trope associated with YouTube vlogs, so much so that it's basically synonymous with them. But at the same time, some people abuse it way too much - jumping in and out between every few words, and it's distracting. I think it all comes down to finding a balance. If you could do a 1-2 minute video with only about 3-5 cuts, that would be fantastic. At the same time though, your longer cuts have to be well paced and fast enough without any lulls so that you don't lost the viewers' interest.

One take videos for music covers are really hard to do, especially if youre a perfectionist and you noticed just 3 seconds of out of tune in the whole 3 minute video. Haha

I just can't do one take videos, because I would spend at least half of the time just not saying anything while thinking of what to say, and most of the other half saying 'um'!
But I think if you can manage them, then one take videos are better, because you don't have jump cuts.
