"Matched Third Party Content" notice

leave these alone but i will say make sure the people deputing are from teh companies that actually own the real rights to the music and visuals. there is a new scheme now that companies are claiming stuff they dont even own.

in the past i use to dispute em and would win saying so mething like fair use but i later looked up some copywrite stuff and realized there is almost nothing that can be done to videogame footage to actually make it fair use. It's pretty much like dubbing over movies and junk. only reason companies allow is it's free advertising.

also when/if you get a partnership even if it has an id match most of em will just automatically put ads on your newer stuff :)

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

I just uploaded part 1 of our playthrough of Dark Souls and it has a "Matched Third Party Content" notice on it from BandaiChannel. What should I do to take care of that? What options do I have?

Again, sorry if this is the wrong section, I just need some help here.
I get that sometimes if I use a tiny bit of music. Click on the 'Matched third party content' and it should tell you how this copyright affects your video. Most of time it has no effect (the video will still be availible and playable everywhere) in which case just don't do anything, and try not to infringe copyright in the future. B
But occasionally a video will be restricted, in which case you need to shorten the copyrighted material in the video :) hope this helps!

What I've done with those "matched third party" claims is I either redid the video with new music or just deleted it. One exception was I disputed it. The next day the video was still up with no "matched third party" strike.

Ignore the first few idiots, they aren't helpful.

Bandai Channel only works on anime they've licensed, Namco Bandai are the ones that own Dark Souls. What triggers these 'alerts' during processing is a not-so-great program that goes through the video during processing to see if anything might belong to someone else that they have a contract with. In this case, Namco Bandai owns Dark Souls, but it's incorrectly reading it towards Bandai Channel. Whether it's correct to file this as a false claim or not...honestly doesn't matter. For any larger company, they aren't going to bother with something this trivial and probably wont even give it a glance. As someone who has had the exact same problem, I never received a response to my dispute, even after a month. However, due to youtube's contracts, they can still claim it as copyright to someone else, and it's something you've agreed to in their updated terms.

What you can do, and what I recommend, is try to make it so that the start or end of your episode is the cutscene, and cut it out. Upload the cutscene as a seperate part, a Part 0 or something, and do not set it for monetization. None of your other episodes should have this problem, but if they're claiming that you need to give more information in order to monetize, so long as you're not using full copyrighted songs, are commentating over the gameplay, and the gameplay is yours to upload, then the game itself falls under fair use. Stating this in a direct manner will have them give an OK on it within a couple weeks.

Hope this helped.
