Hyperlink Hashtag Anyone Else Noticed?

I'm starting to notice a hyperlink hashtag under videos now. Where it can be like ex. #Catsquad, When you click it, it shows all the content creators video. Is this is new thing we all can use or it's only for big youtubers?

I must have been one of the channels that they tested it on beforehand because they started showing up for me a while ago, at the time I added hashtags to all of my videos. My animation channel is a very small channel so it's not only for big channels.

It's a cool new feature that allows you see other videos that may be using the same hashtags. You can use up to 3 hashtags I believe.

Let it be known though that the hashtag concept means that these tags too can become saturated and it is also like a land grab, so make sure you get in early and make your mark.

Another good way to use them is to have a unique hashtag and use it for every video you upload so if someone looks up that unique hashtag it is likely only going to direct them to a page with just your videos.

If you are uploading fron an Android device I believe there is an option to add a geolocation to your videos. If you have done this then you cannot see any hashtags you want to add to your video, so plan accordingly.

To add the hashtags, just add the 3 hashtags you want within your videos description and then once the video is so uploading you will see then right above your video title as clickable links.

I believe you are also able to use hashtags within video titles as well but they look a little less clean and may deter people from your content.

The problem is that according to YouTube's rules, you can't put tags into the description. Now they might have changed it, but tag stacking in the description was a good way to break community rules.

That's interesting because the only way to get the hashtags to appear is to have the hashtag in the description. They may have indeed updated this so that way it is now allowed.

Yes. It's very useful if you're a niche YouTuber and want to find more creators in your field!

It will be interesting to see if hashtags are going to be worth it or not. Right now, 95% of people on Youtube aren't going to use a hashtag to search for a specific topic. So in other words, if the masses don't know it's a thing, then it will never get used.

But like I said, it'll be interesting to see if it takes off, or just another gimmick.
