How to tell if you have been botted?

So for the past month or so I have been getting a large number of dislikes on my videos. I went from 2 total dislikes to almost 200 in the past month, and I only upload 2 videos per week at best. I want to know if this has been a bot because I once found one of my videos with 1 dislike, refreshed the page and saw 5 dislikes, refreshed again and found 8, refreshed again and found 12, and refreshed a final time and found 13. The most suspicious part about this finding is that the view count didn't change at all as the dislikes went up.By the time the dislikes stopped, I had more ratings than views. Is this someone botting me?

It doesn't seem like botting, though it does sound like you have a "hater". What they are doing is logging into multiple accounts to dislike your videos.

People do this for multiple reasons. It could a possibility of:
  • They don't like your content.
  • They don't like you.
  • You said something that offended them.
  • They got annoyed with how your promote.
Or, in some cases:
  • They create similar content, and you're their competition. By disliking your videos, they hope that you will stop creating videos.
  • They're jealous of your content/channel.
Or It could be:
  • They are the kind of people who dislike, just because they can. There's really no point behind it, they just like being a troll.

I dealt with this last year. Someone wanted me to stop making videos. It was clear because at the same time, my views were getting botted (40k+ Views), I was getting rude, troll-like comments (From the same person too. I would block them, and they'd make another account.. same name, and picture, and do it again), and my videos were getting mass disliked (15-30(+) dislikes on my videos).

There's not much you can do besides ignore them. You could always turn off ratings if you don't want anymore dislikes, but that also stops people from liking your videos. I struggled with this for probably about a month or so, and by ignoring the situation they got bored, gave up, and moved on.

It seems like that could be the case. I know lots of lots of stories where someone had been disliking or hate commenting out of jealousy. It's really disappointing to me that people result to something like this just because they want more views or subscribers. Why not work on making your content better instead of trying to take down people with negative feedback?

I find haters amusing at this point, the fact that they so systematically go through all of one's videos disdliking each one, indeed disliking each multiple times with multiple accounts, just speaks volumes about their character, how utterly sad and pathetic they are.

People who do that remind me of the bad guy in movies: always trying to take something down but never succeeding. The sad part is that dislikes are helpful in search engines. They are read the same as likes, and it just gets you more exposure XD

The nearest thing I've had to a hate was when I got three dislikes in one day all on the same playlist. Usually I don't even get 1 a day so it was quite clear I had annoyed somebody.
