How to make my videos(vlogs) a bit shorter?

BillyVlogsTV

I Love YTtalk
Sometimes after finishing a video it can be 6 to 10 minutes long nearly every video i make.

And i would like to make them to about 3 to 5 minutes vlogs just like most Youtubers who does vlogs/challenges videos.

But i can't really make my videos shorter from 3 to 5 minutes long sometimes because it is IMPOSSIBLE to fit all good content that you recorded in the video just like my last 3 videos they are 7/10 minutes long, honestly i wanted to make them a bit more shorter to more like 3-5 min range but i could not make those 3 videos any shorter because you will be editing the things out that you want in your video.

I really WANT to make my videos from 3 to 5 minute long that would be great for me and my viewers/subscribers and for my Youtube channel! :)

how to make my vlogs shorter to like 3-5 minutes long all the time with out editing out the things that you want in the video? Even it is impossible to do that sometimes as i said above.[DOUBLEPOST=1419770682,1419731082][/DOUBLEPOST]Anyone?

if you don't already you could use jump cuts. They can really shorten the video dramatically. The jump cuts don't have to be extremely short and choppy either there are ways to make it flow nicely. I was having the same problem with my last video and jump cuts cut out a solid three minutes without having to sacrifice any good content!

Hi Billy!
First off, great vlogs :) I see that you are already mastering the art of jump-cutting, which is great.
My tip in order to shorten the videos would probably be to try putting the focus on smaller subjects, and then in case you have many things to convey divide it into several videos instead!

But overall I think you should stick to your thing! I watch many Youtubers who have content well over 10 minutes a piece - and it's still enjoyable! Believe in what you do and people will see it, no matter if the content is 2 minutes longer or not :)

When you look at your own stuff it's hard to tell what's good and bad. We tend to be biased and think it's all good. This makes it harder to make cuts. After you make your initial cuts, don't look at your video for a day or two and go back to it. This might help you approach it with a different mind set. Also have an honest friend review it and tell you which parts are the least favorite.

I was about to suggest using jump cuts, but I saw your most recent video. I think you have way too many jumps cuts for my tastes. I think you had 30 of them in the first 45 seconds.
