We really have no control over that. Unless you use Google AdWords and Virool to promote the hell out of your channel.

You could try using this: https://ads.youtube.com/keyword_tool
It can find popular search terms, using them in your tags can get you more likely to be found in search results. You could also try submitting videos to reddit.com where they could blow up and get a lot of traffic. Beyond that, I don't know, I guess it's just luck.

Thanks everyone! Yeah I think it is really a matter of faith and luck sometimes. I'm also wondering why the Gangnam Style is the most viewed Youtube video today LOL... Anyway, thanks for the keyword tool and Reddit tips. I'm already applying those things and hopefully I can gain more views soon.

Make legit replies on youtube/facebook/twitter with your video, don't spam/link.
Send the video to a bunch of daily bloggers
Send the video to the weekly video commentators (RWJ wannabes, etc.. no disrespect)
Post them on your personal facebook wall
Tell your friends
The best advice i've been given, in any business. is to start local and with the people you know..
You'll be surprised how fast things grow, and it's amazing to watch it grow from nothing.. I started uploading on this channel about two weeks ago and it's taken off like i've never thought it would. I did these things (YTTalk helped too!) and it's working great!
