I was reviewing my tags on older videos and they were pretty bad. I had no idea what I was doing. Some videos I used very few words. Tags to me then were individual words.
Now I see tags differently. Now I see tags as word clouds. I use word clouds to describe my video and channel.
Get on tube buddy and look at some popular channels and you will see the shape of their word clouds.
I usually max out the 500 character limit. My guess is, if enough phrases in your tag cloud match phrases from other channel videos, you might earn the chance to get some of their suggested views (other factors also come into play).
Anyways, tags are a 500 character word cloud.
