How Many Subscriber Do You Need Before You Can....

How many subscribers do you think you would need to actually do YouTube fulltime and make a living off of. I know there are a lot of channels that have six figure subscribers and also sell t shirts and promote products with famebit or some other sponsor programs even sometimes affiliate links but that just seems like living on the edge if that makes any sense... how do you know if anyone even buys anything? It would be a surprise everyday and it would seem stressful to live like that i think.. but having loyal subscribers that support you I can understand but it still seems crazy how there are some channels out there that make a living fulltime on youtube. I know a lot of youtubers have normal jobs but how many subscribers do you think a creator would need to actually do youtube fulltime.

I think that depends on a lot of factors. Cost of living, viewer duration, how active subscribers are, what other money you get in from stuff like affiliate marketing and selling products. If you have a patreon.

With that said if you have 200 k subscribers I'd say you're probably getting a decent amount of money. Assuming you upload regularly and have good subscriber following you new videos.

But it does really depend on how active your subscribers are.

It's not necessarily subscribers that matter the most. The main factor is views. You could have 400k subscribers, but only bring in 800k views. The subscriber count does help obviously, but you should be more interested in views. And it depends on the cost of living for where you live. There was a channel I kept up with for a while a year or so ago that had 20k subs but brought in over 2.5 million views per month consistently. For me personally, I'd probably need to be in the 4-6 million views per month range to even consider doing it full time. Until then I just look at any money I make as spending money. (I never actually plan on reaching that number, or doing YouTube full time.)

Depends on cost of production, cost of living, what adverts are running, how many people use adblocker that watch you... so many factors that change per channel.

Example, right now I'm living in a flat with 4 other people, meaning I pay 4x's less rent that a person who lives by themselves. So I could live off around 4x's less than them. So if they need 300k viewers to go fulltime.. I might get away with around 70k-90k..

Everything above pretty much nails it. All about the views, not the subscribers. So I can imagine there will be plenty of big channels out there who might do Sub4Sub on a regular basis or just didn't put enough time in to lock down their community.

That said, I reckon that a gamer (probably one of the best YouTube occupations to be earning money in as you hardly need anything in truth) could earn enough around 250,000 to 500,000 subs?

Like the others have said before myself, it's entirely dependant on your specific situation. I'd love to be able to make videos full-time, but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing so until I had at least a million or so, speaking totally honestly. I may never get there, but it's a goal I can set my sights on for now.

A lot depends on how much income is comfortable for you--cost of living. A guy living in a small apartment alone isn't going to need as much money as someone who has a family and a mortgage.

Revenue varies for everyone, but when we started getting about 200,000 views per day back in 2014, I knew I'd be able to quit my job. Nowadays we get a lot more than that!

Like the others have said, it's all about the views, not the subs, although they are often related.

Work out how much you'd want to be making per month to do it fulltime, then work backwards from that to know how many monthly views you need (based on your RPM)

I always think crown is like a really huge YouTuber or something.

I dunno.

Just a hunch.
