How does social networking fare for your channel?

a few years ago i would have said social media is the way to go.. but folks are loyal to what ever social network they are on.. for example.. youtube folks support youtube folks, twitter, twitter and so on.. so its hard to get folks to cross over...

once your video goes viral.. then social network plays a part in making it grow......
Look at how many youtubers have a million subs.. but only 30K twitter followers... it just doesnt cross over all the time
