How does making shorts work?

How do you actually upload a short to youtube? Do you just upload a short video like any other video and put #Short or something in the title or is there another way?

It needs to be filmed in portrait mode on your phone, it must be under 60 seconds and you have to put #shorts in the title (make sure it's plural - shorts). You may need to also have a playlist for Shorts but I'm not positive if that's required.

Like Seth said. Please not that this is just a workaround for those that haven't gotten the "Shorts" option available from the YouTube app - because it's still in beta. Last I heard is that it's only released in India, but that has probably changed. In the near future (I guess...?) we'll all have the "Shorts" option when creating a video from the YouTube app!
