How did you get into filmmaking on youtube?

Pretty curious on how some people got into script writing, acting, directing and etc for short skits. I have some ideas but i just don't think they're good enough. Filming isnt the hard part, just getting a idea and developing it to how i want it. Not sure if this is something normal but how did you guys get into this and get past hard points? I do skateboarding montages but would like to do some skits and short films as well.

It was a passion of mine way before YouTube even had come around. Films in general are a big part of my life, and something I love dearly. To be able to express yourself, and share the world how you see/dream it is so amazing.

I can't speak for the others but basically for me it's mainly about just getting a spark. When you get that spark you've gotta write it down immediately. Then let it simmer in your head. If you truly believe it's a great idea, you'll be able to develop it right in your head and just get down all the points needed (dialog, camera angles, props). Seldom has an idea come about with me just sitting around trying to force it out. It's gotta come naturally.

Since the childhood I was interested in films, animes, cartoons, dramas, songs, dance, all about entertainment, but when I reach 22 years old, I realized that I actually wanted to be a Film Producer!

Well for me IDEAS aren't a Problem, filming is tough, bcz while filming, you have to take care of several measures e.g. Lighting, Shooting angle, clear Sound, Noise removals, confidence to speak to camera etc.

PEACE

It's interesting, I never cared much for filmmaking or editing. I've been a hobby photographer for about half my life, but I never really translated to moving pictures until I started taking my channel seriously. Luckily, a lot of my photography knowledge and technique carried over nicely, but other than that I have NO idea what I'm doing, for the most part lol

I never write anything down or plan anything, I wing 100% of my videos. That should probably change, but I get too caught up in doing the thing I'm doing, and tend to forget there's even a camera sometimes.

To your point, though, what's the problem? You say you're getting stuck on a 'hard part', but you don't say what. So what's the part that's stalling you?

I was making videos before YouTube, back in the VHS tape days. When I had kids it was natural that I'd start making videos with them. YouTube just happened to be in the right place at the right time for us!
