How deep is your imagination?

Weekend Noobs

If the week gets you down then join us and unwind
Hey hey,

Ok I have hit a writers block with my fantasy based story which will be developed to a playable game on youtube.

In a nut shell, you are in an enchanted forest. The forest has very rarely, if never, killed anyone. Everyone who enters end up back where they started. Some spooked, some a little roughed up and some even state they heard voices in their heads. None have gone missing.

My question for you guys is this. What can this enchanted forest do?
So far i've had plants that make you hallucinate, moving trees, living plants. There will also be a bridge or 2, maybe a underground pathway through the forest.
How does this forest try to stop you from entering it?

Long ago, the forest was claimed by a Witch that lived in the center. Her magic was always sought after, and even in her death, there were those that braved the very forest she enchanted before her timely demise. You see, the Witch didn't mind someone honing her abilities, though she wanted a true successor. Only one as clever as the old Witch would be able to get past her elaborate spells, and incantations.

The forest itself wouldn't ever kill the travelers, though it would test their might, their wit, and their determination. Various labyrinths, creatures, and spells heed all those who enter. Nymphs roam the forests depths, seducing all who edge closer to the Witch's hut, as large Trolls, and small Goblins try to frighten off others. The entire forest is laced with magical traps that will simply teleport a wanderer right back to the outskirts of the forest.

That was very cool :D

But my question was what can this enchanted forest do?
So how does this forest stop/prevent people from entering it?

I believe that was answered as well.

Before you enter, the forest makes you see an older version of yourself for a split second before they dash between the trees and out of sight. Most are too frightened and spooked to follow their older selves into the mysterious woods, but others are intrigued...THUS ADVENTURES ENSUE.

Idk. ;)

Hmmm....that could be quite intriguing. Thanks for sharing! ^_^ could be one of the many illusions perhaps.[DOUBLEPOST=1425414045,1425372560][/DOUBLEPOST]Thanks to those who gave their input. I had loads of suggestions via facebook and its sparked many interesting ideas. One of which has created an interesting twist to the story ^_^
Thanks again

You should check out the webgame "The Uncle Who Worked for Nintendo", it's very similar in terms of imagination and the tone of what I feel you're going for. It's a quick game, so you can play it online - just google it. It's a bit more of a horror, but you could definitely take that slant.
