What is FableCast?

FableCast is an RPG game I'm currently going to be working on. The game will have some slight inspirations from UNDERTALE, and will feature many YouTubers.


What is this thread going to be used for?

This is just the ideas and updates thread. If you have a suggestion or idea or something you'd like to contribute, feel free to do so. I will update this thread on occasion to let you in on the details of the game.
 
Could you explain a little more about what the game would be? This sounds like a very cool concept from what I can tell, I am very interested to hear more.

Certainly. The game will be based on a world where YouTube is existent on a distant planet and many of the YouTubers as seen in the real YouTube exist in the same world, but as their personas and their personalities will be exactly as their videos portray them as.

The game will be a Farming Sim/Tycoon of sorts mixed with an RPG with puzzles and riddles and exploration. During the day, your character will be able to run their Studio (this game's equivalent of YouTube Channels) and will be able to interact with various characters during the day as well, and even befriend them. During the night, you can explore the land of FableCast yourself.

That sounds so cool! Will it be a flash game or a downloadable game?
 
Well, the software I'm using will be able to upload the game to Steam, so it'll probably be just a "Free To Play Online" game.

I'll let everyone know as the time goes on.
 
Sounds like a cool idea, So its like an MMO RPG based on youtubers. I would be interested in seeing how it turns out. What would be cooler then playing youtube as a game. One benefit is you might actually meet people in the game that you could work with on youtube in the future. when do you think the game will be completed and able to play?
 
Is it going to be similar to Youtubers life? or more an RPG where you walk around the world and do stuff and interact with people. All the youtube style games i see are Sim like or just sit there and make videos and there is no interaction at all with anyone.
 
It'll be YouTuber's Life mixed with Stardew Valley. You'll be able to work in your Studio as much as you want, but you can sign out anytime to interact with people around the city.

sounds fun, Maybe you could even make a huge area that all the players could hang out in and talk with eash other. That way they could find each other on youtube itself. Do you think you will add a friend list so you can actually communicate in game to other players or is the studio a solo thing. That way people could collab in the game with each other would be awesome too.
