Do you think it's hard to start a new YouTube channel now ?

I created a channel less then 3 months ago and I think it is quite hard to get big due to all the people that already do COD videos and do exactly the same glitches and so on and so forth.

I am still trying to get big but it definitely is rather hard. I would love it if you could SUB to my channel as I don't have many at the moment.

Thanks guys !

It is hard, I've been going 2 months and I'm more than aware that YouTube is, in the most part, a long term investment; as for most people it takes anywhere between 6 months to 2 years to get a partnership. My advice would be to just keep at it, keep uploading, other people who have just started like yourself will eventually give up, but if you keep at it and do not stop it will eventually happen for you :)... but yeah, it's gonna take a while :p

It's definitely hard, and can get disheartening at times. I find myself having to will myself to keep going pretty much daily, but I don't want to give up, and if it's something you really want to do, keep at it.

You have to keep going and stay positive!
It's definitely hard, but then again no one said it would be easy.

If you're determined, confident and passionate about what you do, people will follow.
Just be respectful and supportive of other people :)

Hey man, I'm quite new myself (less than a month old!), and I've discovered it's really hard to start. Like how are you meant to get people to watch your videos, or even find out about your channel, without paying money to YouTube or anyone else? I wish you all the best with your channel!

It's all about confidence, content, and consistency :) Yes, it is hard because you are battling so many other channels out there but you can't let that get to you. You will have good days and bad days, and like Fondoo said it's like a long-term investment, in terms of how long you have to work at it.

I think that there are a lot of channels out there, but people who work hard and are persistent are more likely to be successful and gain a following. That said, a lot depends on luck and being strategic about how you present yourself and your videos, and promote your channel.

That said, I'm not an expert and my channel isn't very big. But I am enjoying myself and having loads of fun :)

I personally haven't found it that hard, but that isn't to say it isn't hard work at times keeping up with promoting and networking all the time. I've had a nice growth in the couple of months I've been around (360 subs, nearly 9k views) but to get that I've worked daily and almost non-stop to get my channel off the ground.

But, is it worth it? Yep :)

I started my gaming channel about 5 weeks ago now and I am still seeing consistant growth, I have had no viral videos (which can sometimes make things alot easier to start out).

One thing I did differently to all other new gaming channels is I planned everything such as social networking, background designs, logo, thumbnails etc before even thinking about uploading any content. I had to be 100% happy with my design and layout before trying to attract potential subscribers. The question I constantly asked myself throughout the process is.. if you were looking around YouTube as a neutral and stumbled across your channel, would you subscribe and watch your content? if you say "that could be better" go back to the drawing board and improve it.

I will repeat what others have said in this post, as a gaming channel you will need to show consistant and great content. Growing a gaming channel is very hard in the current market, just love your content and it will come in time :)
