Do I want to be a partner now? I dunno!

do it! you've gained quite a bit of sucess in a short period of time... being partnered with a network couldn't hurt :p plus if you do have any problems with your channel its much easier to get a hold of the network your partnered with rather then youtube it's self.
True youtube support is so hard to get a hold of and thats why i was excited to be apart of the fullscreen network they have fast email support, you are assigned a partner manager and they have just released a forum that is available only to it's members.

As most of you know my partnership status is on hold until I sort that phoney copyright strike out and reapply to RPM.

But considering I literally only wanted Partnership for the banner, and further considering as of less than 2 weeks time EVERYONE will get a banner... I have to wonder, do I even want to be a partner any more?

I really don't know. I am so not fussed about the money at this stage of my YT life I can't even tell you. Unless you're REALLY raking in views it's barely worth trying to earn anything.

Is it worth being a Partner now? Are there other benefits for my channel that I'm missing?

I'd still do it if I were you. You may not get a lot of money but it'll be something plus it'll grow over time. The other benefits are the external annotations that you can make link to your channel with your channel icon as the annotation. Other than that they might ad new things for partners. So yeah go for it. :D

Partnership offers a ton of features. Its not just revenue and a banner, when you join a network most of them will offer a service for royalty music from a site of their choosing and they will cop the bill for the song. I just used AudioMicro through RPM and saved myself over $50 on songs I'm using. They also offer a live support feature and support agent for copyright issues once you've been accepted in. I've been with many networks like TGN and RPM and offers from CPE and Machinima. So far RPM is by FAR the best. I hope this enlightens you a little. Networks and partnerships arent just for looks :P

Might be a good idea to keep your options open for now. Nothing wrong with being patient. If the network has an option for you to back out of any contract you sign with them, I would say it can't hurt to give them a try, but you wouldn't want to be stuck with a 3 year or lifetime contract for a network, and find out a few months down the road that someone else is offering things that will really help your channel or appeal to you. If you're not worried about money, and backing out of the contract isn't an option, I'd just wait it out.
