Hey everyone,
Today I want to clear up a common misconception about "giveaways". This is where a content creator will go out of his way to get products/items to giveaway on his YouTube channel. These could be physical or virtual.
But my question is, do they really help a channel grow?
Let's say a channel with 250 subscribers does a Keyboard and Mouse giveaway, and he advertises it on Twitter, it may not reach a large amount of people, resulting in low entries and a waste of money.
However, if that channel was to do a smaller giveaway, and partner with a company that will advertise your giveaway to their followers, then this may help more. I do this with my giveaways. I review products on my channel, and then give them away afterwards, and the company usually advertises the giveaway, meaning I get a lot of entrants.
How do you feel about giveaways? Are they a cheap way of growing, or are they effective?
