custom thumbnails? Yes? No?

What is your opinion on custom thumbnails? And how do you make them?
I don't currently create custom thumbnails. Do you think they get you more views?

they make the video look more attractive and can definitely pull in more views if executed well.

use photoshop or some free alternatives like paint.net and gimp and make a 640 x 360 picture and fill it with whatever you want

make sure the text is big enough and you pictue is interesting

I use Photoshop to create mine 1280x720, you just use your imagination to create them

I use photoshop..and i do think they help.. but thats mostly because its the thumbnail that attracts me to some videos...

Thanks for the input Maybe I'll consider using gimp, I'm not sure. Does it take a long time though? I'd rather not spend forever making a custom thumbnail if its going to look cruddy anyway XD

Thumbnails generally take me around 3 minutes for a specialized one, one with a numerical number numbering it in the series, Gimp is a free photo editing tool thats like photoshop that i used to use that performs quite well, Definently use custom thumbnails
