A Let's Play with cam but not talking about the game

I was thinking about playing through the classic sonic games but I was thinking of doing it a little different than I have been. I was going to keep my facecam and everything, but instead of talking about the gameplay I was going to talk about a particular topic. I'm not sure what that topic is yet. I figure I can do that about this game since there isn't much to say about the classic sonics. Do you think this is a good idea?
 
I'm not sure about it. People would not understand on what to focus, if either the game or the topic you are talking about.

I had a friend who made a pretty successful channel awhile back by doing gameplays, and having different topics. He'd discuss his favorite anime, and gave his opinion on it, or tell stories about his childhood. Sort of like how Danny and Arin do on Game Grumps.
 
Yo mate I checked out your channel and honestly your channel is quite professional looking the whole "talking about other stuff while a game is going on" thing can only work for games like sonic where not much is going on honestly I see lots of people doing it and it works just make sure you have an interesting topic (example: the Game Grumps talk about LITERALLY anything while they do commentaries)
