Youtube now auto monetize videos

Don't worry about it. Nothing happens with your video if it's claimed and then at a later date you get a Content ID claim on it. You'll just be at the fate of the copyright holder's policy.
So what should we do? We just want to unclaim it. I used to have the choice until they changed it back to the $ sign.

If you don't want to monetize a video, just change the usage policy to Track (as you have already).
 
You guys are over-reacting. Claiming a video isn't the trigger for content match or copyright strike. If the content owner wants to strike you, it's going to happen whether the video is claimed or not.

Some video game publishers don't have issues with channels using their game's footage but they do have an issue with them earning money off it.
