I was lucky enough to become a verified partner years ago when YouTube had just launched the program and I was eligible. However, 10k views is not that hard to get especially if you are creating good content and optimizing your keywords for search. Also, sharing your video on your social networks will help get views too. You make next to nothing on 10k views anyways, so its not like you are missing out on big money like many people have said!

I am still allowed to monotize my videos but youtube only started giving me estimates again when I hit 3,000 views which I thought was a bit wierd. I was given estimates and earning a few cents before you had to have 10,000 views and then it stopped until yesterday.

I am not be able to monetize my account and getting 10.000 views are tough. Have tried couple ways and my luck only got 1.000 for 8 videos. Its killing any small channel.

Just make enough videos and you'll get there. I admit if you're just starting out like.... today, it would be tough. But I think if you have 300 or so reasonably watched videos, you'd already be there.

It is legit. Yeah, I agree 10k must not be too hard cause I've only been on YouTube for a few weeks and I already have 2k views! :) May this only do us well creators!

My YouTube channel is 3 years old, tho I only started posting a month ago, and now have around 3100 lifetime views. However, despite that I have monetization enabled and am a verified partner, YouTube won't run ads on my channel until the 10,000 view mark. I don't really see a problem with this.

Plus, despite that YouTube doesn't run ads on my videos yet, YouTube Red still gives you a small bit of revenue from the users who watch your videos that are subscribed to YTR. Pennies, but something, which is fun to see.

Overall, I think it was a great move for YT and kind of only drives me to want to work harder.

I crapped myself and was preparing to call it a day on my gaming channel because I thought it was 10,000 views per video for a moment.

So yes 10,000 life time views on your channel is nothing, keep going guys :)

Wow good for you guys! I don't think mine's going to earn till I reach the 10k view mark. The thing is I've noticed that my current viewers are not increasing as much too :3 So I'm still at 2k+ since I started last month (1 month now). I'll definitely work harder like you guys :) So I can reach those milestonesxx
