Microphone: BLUE Yeti
Hi thank you for sharing. I have a blue yeti and i`m looking to hook it up on an arial extender arm like you have done. Did you buy a special arm or is it just a regular lamp arm? (im calling it arm cause I cant think of the right word )

This is a great thread. So many new toys to buy... just wondering if you know how I would set up this shot. If I want to demo something close up - like an intricate craft video for example. I tried using a large tripod but it gets in the way so I am thinking I can do this using a table top tripod. How do people film these close up demo videos?

You'd definitely need a stand with a boom arm. I can't think of any other way.

This is how I do it:
- Camera with a 18-55mm lens (because it can focus at only 9-11 inches away), so I can get reasonably close to subject while also sitting behind camera when I want to. Zoom to max when needed. Then zoom some more in editing if you really need to
- Shoot the video at the edge of a high table, so your tripod leg can go under the table & you are high enough to do whatever you need to on a high chair without killig your back.
