Let say you take a popular songs and edit it to remove the vocal or voice in the music. Would that still count as copyright when you put in your videos? I been wondering about this for days.

I can't say whether you would get a strike or not. Some content is allowed but they will claim the video.

As to the other part of your question, removing the lyrics does not remove the copyright protections. There are many people involved in writing the lyrics, the music, etc.

A song is made up of lyrics and a melody. Both are original creations and thus protected by copyright law.

Copyright is a really simple thing. If you didn't create something, you can't use it without a license or permission.
Ah I see alright thanks for the info. So it doesn't matter if you cut out either both the lyric or melody, it still the same thing. Got it.
