I have a D5100 that I bought a few years ago. I got might right when the 5200 came out and IIRC, there was not much difference between the two - certainly not enough difference to justify the additional cost for the 5200. Learn how to use it and get a nice 1.4f or 1.8f 35mm primary lens and you'll be very happy

If the 5100 has the features that arwayne13 is looking for then I agree 100% with this comment. A decent camera with a good lens with someone who knows how to use it is a lot better than a camera with amazing specs.

Usually there's not that much difference between the 100 and 200 series Nikon's. Just small updates which don't really justify the price if you really don't need them! I got a D7100 instead of a D7200 for much less and it does everything I want!

I usually only use the 5100 for (some) of my "in garage" Vlog/Info videos.. For our trail videos we use several iphones, a DJI ZAxis Steadicam and a Canon D70.
what title of your video that you use your nikon d5100? can i check that video so i can see it =)[DOUBLEPOST=1498544776,1498544656][/DOUBLEPOST]

Aww thank you very much =) its just the new features on the d5200 is 720 and 1080 60fps and d5100 only use 720p and 1080p 30fps.. so should i go for the nikon d5100 and extra lens then? some people said go for canon! but i like Nikon more before its more colorful .. if your canon user sorry for the word just my opinion[DOUBLEPOST=1498544853][/DOUBLEPOST]

60fps is very good for slow motion shots etc. But then what is the price difference? And how often are you going to use it? 25/30fps is the standard for most videos.
