I feel like it's mostly the exact opposite. A lot of viewers don't even look at the description, they go immediately to the comments section and type away.
Plus, having affiliate links in the description is just another way to support that creator so I don't see it as a bad thing or a turn-off. Unless that specific creator is obviously flexing.
