What's Does it Mean When.....

What does it mean when a channel loses tens of millions of views in one day? I have been doing research of social blade and there are a ton of channels that have a great upward slope and then a massive loss in the tens of millions of views before they start their upward slope again. What is this and what does it mean?

I'm guessing it's because Youtube (or channel owner) deleted videos due to the latest crackdown on "questionable" videos ("adpocalypse", "Elsagate"). All of those views that they were getting on those videos are now gone. Some channels are losing billions of views because of it.

Is this still occurring? Some are losing tens of millions of views as of 6-7 days ago.

I do believe it's currently ongoing. What might also happen is someone uploads, gets a bunch of views, the video gets demonetized (because I know this is an ongoing problem at the moment) and then the channel owner will delete the video or make it private. That's just my guess, though!
